Course Outline:

Through each age of human history, communication and design have been vital factors.


Graphics focuses on communicating ideas and precise information through drawing.  Through Graphic communication, students give direction to others, use creative problem solving to clarify ideas, or realistically portray the shape and form of any object.  An introduction is made into the world of computer generated images.

                •Physical


Assessment Outline:

In Graphics the focus is on achievement of 14 nationally set objectives.


Where Does It Lead?

To a six month option in Year 10 which will advance and introduce further Graphic communication skills.  In Years 11, 12 & 13 Graphics becomes a full year course where students complete a programme of NCEA Achievement Standards.  Beyond school lies a continually expanding world of design related careers.
