Year 9 and Year 10 Maori.
Course Outline:
The focus of the course is on both oral and written Maori. You will need the four basic skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing.
ORAL / LISTENING
You will understand some spoken Maori
You will be able to convey your message accurately in Maori
You will be able to demonstrate competency in handling various sentence structures
WRITTEN
You will need to be able to do the following:
Write with clarity in the Maori language
Convey accurately the message you intend to give
Demonstrate competency in handling the various sentence structures
READING
You will need to be able to:
Read Maori at a level of difficulty equivalent to the textbook Te Rangatahi 2
During the year you need to read the equivalent of at least 100 words in Maori each week
