                Special Costs: A Casio FX-9750-G Plus graphics calculator is required.  $16 write-on homework book.


Entry Requirements:

Students must have achieved 16 credits in Mathematics Achievement Standards NCEA Level 1, including an Achievement with Merit or Excellence in Algebra, and a good result in Graphing.


Course Outline:

This course is where students first begin to study Mathematics in some depth.  Students start to learn about some of the underlying structure of Mathematics.


Assessment Outline:

Each of the eight topics are assessed by a test.  The mid-year and end-of-year examinations help prepare students for the externally assessed standards.

Students are expected to do 20-40 minutes of homework in their write-on homework book each night.
