LEVEL 1:  NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN MATHEMATICS

Curriculum Level: 5/6

Course Length: Year two of a two year course.

Special Costs: $11.00 for a write-on homework book.

Entry Requirements:

Students will have preferably taken either the 11 Maths 2 or the 11 Maths 3 course.

Course Outline:

A practical based course consolidating the work of Years 9, 10, and 11 Maths.  This course is intended for students who would benefit from developing a more sound foundation in basic mathematical skills.

Assessment Outline:

Each topic will be internally assessed by Unit Standards.  There is no external assessment in this course.

Out of Class Expectations and Commitments

Students are expected to do 10-15 minutes of homework in their write-on homework book each night.

Where Does It Lead?

On completion students will receive a National Certificate in Mathematics Level 1.  This qualification will be useful for vocational or practical areas that require a basic level of mathematical ability.
